5 Really Easy Ways to Help Earth -- For Lazy people :D

  • Many people like to wash their clothes and dishes with hot water, because they think it helps kill germs.
    •  But the point of using soap is that the soap sticks to gross particles, and then the water washes it away!
    • If all the households in the U.S. switched from hot-hot cycle to warm-cold, we could save the energy comparable to 100,000 barrels of oil a day. (Source)
  • Work from home, or get your mom/dad too if they can! It saves gas money and also prevents pollution and CO2 emissions.
  • Surprisingly, matches are better for the environment than lighters, so just keep that in mind! Lighters pollute the world with plastic. Over 1.5 billion end up in landfills each year. Matches, though, are made of wood and can be turned into compost, or just thrown on the ground for the bugs to eat! (Source)
  • Collect rainwater to feed your plants! This saves water; besides, purifying water at water-purification plants uses up energy anyway.
  • If you put heavy curtains on your windows during winter, it saves a lot of electricity that could've been used for air conditioning! (Air conditioning is expensive anyway.)
